In February 2018, Kingsford resident, Mark, installed a 3.25kW solar power system through one of the Australian Energy Foundation’s recommended solar suppliers.
We spoke to him to understand his experience.
Why Mark decided to install solar
Mark has always been interested in solar panels and renewable energy, but had never progressed to getting a quote from a supplier.
“What made us finally act was the letter we received from Randwick City Council about a council program [via the Australian Energy Foundation] that linked households to vetted suppliers.”
“It sounded like a good initiative that would help take out a lot of the work from the process, so we decided to try it.”
Mark contacted the Australian Energy Foundation, where he received advice from the energy advice team and was then put in touch with a fully vetted supplier.
Mark received a quote a few days later and was happy with the prompt service he received so he decided to proceed with the installation.
“Though the money-saving factor was a big drawcard, it was the environmental benefits of solar panels, that made us decide to go ahead with the decision.”
Mark then had his 3.25kW solar power system installed in February 2018.
“Overall, the process was very good to excellent. The installer recommended by the Australian Energy Foundation was particularly professional and helpful and since our installation, our electricity bill has gone down from $300 to $100 a quarter! I would absolutely recommend this program to others.”
