Resilient Hills Community Energy

The client wanted to reduce the cost of living whilst keeping money in the region, generate local jobs, support the energy transition and be recognised as leaders in innovation and collaboration.

Explored how the region could benefit from participating in various models of community energy projects. The feasibility study needed to ensure that all members of the community would have the opportunity to participate – not just those with the means to invest financially.

Proposed that councils invest in the establishment of an energy foundation. The foundation would then be best placed to roll out projects, starting with a PPA agreement that supported renewable energy at a competitive cost. Developed an engagement strategy and plan to build momentum from the community in support of council investment.
