Australian Energy Foundation announces new major supporter: Brighte

AEF’s passionate team of practical visionaries will continue to deliver outcomes for the community, working alongside trusted suppliers, government, industry and community partners.

For 21 years, the Australian Energy Foundation has been working alongside communities towards an equitable zero carbon society. Our founder, Mike Hill, created AEF’s predecessor to provide practical local leadership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Over the last five years, we have engaged with close to 47,000 people, benefiting an estimated 120,000 Australians, and helped install 13.03 MW of renewables resulting in the abatement of 340.2 kilotonnes of CO2e abated. AEF has been evolving to extend its reach and deepen its positive community and environmental outcomes, as the energy market continues to shift.

We’re now thrilled to announce a new major supporter, the purpose-driven sustainable homes platform: Brighte

Brighte’s support will enable AEF to continue as an independent not-for-profit, following a financially challenging period.

AEF’s focus will continue to be on providing:

  • simple, up-to-date and impartial energy advice tailored to household and business needs
  • guidance for community organisations, businesses and households to tap into affordable, reliable and community-owned clean energy
  • home energy efficiency upgrades, particularly for low-income households.

We also look forward to continuing to work with our partners including City of Moreland and 26 other local governments, Energy Consumers Australia, the Energy Efficiency Council, Victorian and ACT Governments, Brotherhood of St Laurence, Uniting and many more, to create responses to emerging community needs.

AEF’s vision and role are as crucial as ever. AEF have long advocated for all Australians to have access to clean, affordable and reliable energy – we look forward to continuing this important work with our valuable partners and broader network.
