Our household energy behaviours are something we can easily modify to respond to the climate emergency, save on our energy bills, and work towards a Zero Carbon Moreland!
Moreland Energy Innovation Lab (MEIL) is an initiative of Moreland City Council and Australian Energy Foundation (AEF).
MEIL is undertaking an In-Home Device (IHD) Pilot Program, that will involve the recruitment of interested households in Moreland.
Interested Moreland residents will be given a free IHD to track their energy usage. Participants will also be provided with information packs that will give tips, tricks, and behavioural cues for our day-today energy practices.
AEF and Moreland City Council hope to gain insight into the benefits and barriers of implementing both IHDs and energy behaviour change ‘tools’ in creating empowered households in Moreland.
Moreland's community energy saving practices can make a BIG impact on climate change.
An in-home device (IHD) shows household energy use in real time, via a simple smartphone app.
Using an In-Home Device helps you clearly see what appliances may be using excess energy and help you to reduce your use.
This program is not just about saving energy, it's about saving on our electricity bills.
Saving energy doesn't mean being cold in winter, along with an IHD, participants will be provided with energy saving tips & tricks.
Fill out the form below to register your interest in the program.
We're available from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (excl. public holidays).

IHDs are installed by a registered installer, but don’t worry: all of the nitty-gritty will be organised for you by the team at AEF. The installation is quick, free, and requires no modification to your electrical panel.
